Dr. Terri Norton Speaks at Recognition Reception

At this year’s Recognition Reception on April 18th the McNair scholars, along with their faculty mentors and family, had the opportunity to listen to former McNair scholar Dr. Terri Norton speak about her academic career. Dr. Norton is currently an assistant professor in the Construction Systems department at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She has won many prestigious awards, including the Black Engineer of the Year Award, and she is a Ronald McNair Exemplary Fellow at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

Dr. Norton encouraged all of our scholars to keep focused on their academic careers and to make the most out of every opportunity. She is an example to all of us: with dedication and hard work every McNair scholar can achieve their academic dreams.
